Kenya Film Commission (KFC) is a State Corporation mandated to facilitate the development of a vibrant film and television industry in Kenya and to market the country’s filming potential locally and internationally. KFC works closely with film stakeholders, government agencies, private organizations, professional bodies and associations in the film industry and other film commissions. KFC has exciting career opportunities and now seeks to recruit the appropriate persons to fill the following senior positions:

PRODUCTION & LIAISON MANAGERJOB REF: KFC/PLM/2013
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the incumbent will facilitate the process of making films in Kenya.

Job Profile:

  • Liaise with county and national government departments to streamline the issuance of permits, licences and relevant exemptions for filmmakers.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with film studios and facility houses.
  • Carry out analysis of the technical factors influencing film-makers in their choice of destinations for production and post-production services.
  • Put in place appropriate strategies to ensure that potential customers are attracted to Kenya’s locations and productions facilities.
  • Work with film producers to identify suitable locations for film shooting.
  • Offer considerable production expertise.
  • Create consciousness on Kenyan films in the local and international markets.
  • Formulate and implement promotional and advertising strategies, in liaison with producer and marketing team.
  • Enter into alliances with local and foreign producers and distributors in order to ensure film products from Kenya are introduced to customers in other countries.
  • In collaboration with the Corporate Affairs Manager ensure efficient and accurate internal and external communication to the Commission, Government, the Public and Press and maintaining contact databases and developing the Commission’s communications strategies.
  • Input into the Commission website.
  • Facilitate the exchange and distribution of knowledge about the Commission.
  • Ad-hoc administrative duties and event management.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree from a recognized university.
  • Preferably a Post-graduate qualification in Project Management, the film industry or any related field.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency of computer application packages.
  • Able to quickly understand complex problems and devise effective solutions.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must have self-drive and be able to work without supervision.
  • Must be proactive and able to work under pressure.
  • At least six (6) years experience in a busy film production outfit
