Kenya Film Commission (KFC) is a State Corporation mandated to facilitate the development of a vibrant film and television industry in Kenya and to market the country’s filming potential locally and internationally. KFC works closely with film stakeholders, government agencies, private organizations, professional bodies and associations in the film industry and other film commissions. KFC has exciting career opportunities and now seeks to recruit the appropriate persons to fill the following senior positions:

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the job holder will support the efficiency and effectiveness of the office of the CEO through provision of administrative support services in the areas of research, communication and public relations

Job Profile:

  • Undertake research and compile information for the Commission as directed.
  • Manage the media process including press releases, media communications, and media events.
  • Plan for and manage events to promote and publicise activities of the Kenya Film Commission.
  • Edit / proofread reports and other communications that originate from the Commission.
  • Promote an effective internal communications system.
  • Liaising with ICT to ensure establishment and maintenance of an intra-web by regularly monitoring the information posted on the intra-web by staff.
  • Co-ordinating and updating the information released through social media by the Commission.
  • Responding to relevant queries and correspondence of routine nature directed to the Commission.
  • Assisting in preparing briefs and information packages from the Commission.
  • Oversee the production of the Commission’s newsletter.
  • Work with other departments in the development and maintenance of a database/information management system for the Resource Centre to facilitate access to the information.
  • Perform any other relevant assignment as may be directed by the CEO or the Board from time to time.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree from a recognized university.
  • Post-graduate qualification in Public Relations/journalism/mass communication/ international relations, preferable.
  • Self-motivation and ability to take initiative and work with minimum supervision.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills.
  • Strong inter- personal and public relations skills.
  • At least seven (7) years experience in a similar position.
